OO9 Gauge Layout

Mynydd Tatws newydd

Mynydd Tatws newydd is a minimum space continuous run 009 layout inspired
by many trips on both the Welsh Highland Railway and the Ffestiniog railway. Whilst
not based on a specific area, it is intended to invoke aspects of both lines.
It has been featured in Hornby Magazine, Modelljarnvagsmagasinet in Sweden and
has won best in show at Leigh exhibition 2025 and Shildon 2025.

OO/OO9 Gauge Layout

A Cold Front

A COLD FRONT is an OO9 scale WWI themed supplies / medical trench layout. The layout took three years to build, and is to be featured in Model Rail Magazine.
The layout is set in a fictional location somewhere in the France during the winter in WWI. The layout depicts a small but busy supply yard which can be seen delivering supplies and moving injured soldiers.

Daisy Lane

‘Daisy Lane TMD’ is a diesel depot set in East Anglia in the late 1980’s / early
1990’s. The facility provides a loco refuelling and a crew signing on point as
well as maintenance and stabling of locomotives. A wide variety of loco
classes and liveries visit ‘Daisy Lane TMD’ including class 08’s, 20’s, 31’s,
37’s, 45’s, 47’s, 50’s, 56’s and 60’s all of which are in a variety of liveries
including Network SouthEast, British Rail Blue, Railfreight and one-off special
liveries.

Roadwater

Roadwater is a "might of been"; station on a truncated GWR branch line in the 1920's. Whilst
Roadwater did have a station on the West Somerset Mineral Railway, it was closed at an earlier date,
I have changed history and it is now connected to the Minehead branch at Washford.

O Gauge Layouts

Marshside

Marshside is an O gauge 1930s period LMS layout that represents a fictitious branch terminus
serving a small town on the southern shore of the Ribble estuary in Lancashire. The line is
assumed to have been constructed by the West Lancashire Railway, which, in real life, ran
between Preston and Southport, and was taken over by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in
1897, subsequently becoming part of the LMS at the grouping in 1923.

1:35th Gauge Layout

Gants Hill

Gants Hill was inspired by the wartime underground Plessey Company’s factory between Gants Hill and Wanstead on the unfinished Central Line Tunnels in East London.
A narrow gauge railway was constructed using Battery Electric locomotives by Wingrove and Rogers. Using OO track in a simple circuit with a passing loop at the rear, the gauge represents about 18 to 20 inches. 3 cameo scenes can be viewed on 3 sides showing various scenes based on the photos available.
